FAQs
Olm Gallery is happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our artists or collection. Below are some commonly asked questions that may provide insight about our policies, different types of artwork, and services we provide.
What is the difference between original fine art and a custom print reproduction?
An original is a unique, one-of-a-kind painting hand-painted, drawn, or sculpted by the artist. A reproduction or fine art print is custom-made from a professional, high-quality photograph to your size and finishing specifications using archival inks and quality finishing materials. Some of our artists offer editioned prints.
How long will it take to ship my artwork?
For original artwork, please expect 1 - 6 weeks for delivery, depending on artwork size, weight, and destination. Once your order is complete, you will be emailed the shipping details to track your order.
What if my order arrives damaged?
In the event that your order arrives damaged, please notify us within 3 days of delivery. Providing photos is most helpful with insurance claims. We’ll work quickly to either replace or refund your order.
What is your return/exchange policy?
Artwork that has been purchased online may be returned provided the client notifies the gallery within 3 days of arrival. Work must be packed, insured, and shipped back to the gallery. The client is responsible for return shipping costs. The gallery catalogues images before shipment; returned artwork should arrive in identical condition.
Can I place artwork on hold?
All of Olm Gallery’s artwork is offered on many online platforms and can sell with a click of a button. Therefore, we will only put an artwork on hold for 7 days if a non-refundable 10% deposit is paid. The 10% deposit is calculated on the artworks retail price and if the artwork is purchased the deposit will be applied to the sale.
Does my artwork arrive ready to hang on the wall?
Yes - all artwork will arrive wired or with the appropriate installation hardware, depending on the artist’s preference for how the work should be mounted.
Can you help me select artwork for my space?
Absolutely, we offer a range of services to help you select the best artwork for your space.,. If you have questions about how to order please email hello@olmgallery.com
I would like to request a commission by a specific artist or receive more information on this. What do I do?

Do you offer appraisals or restoration services?
Olm does not offer appraisal or restoration services at this time.
Do you provide framing for a piece that is unframed?
Olm does not provide any framing services at this time however many of the artwork(s) we carry have been framed by the artist. When shopping, be sure to look at all the photos in the image gallery and check framed dimensions in the product description. If you purchase a painting on gallery wrapped canvas and are interested in having a frame added, we are happy to recommend a frame type or a color and can also refer you to a framer near you as well.
Will the color of artwork look the same as it appears on my screen?
There are subtle variations between monitors, screen resolution, brightness and lighting which can affect the appearance of the artwork. While we pay careful attention to accurately represent color you may see a slight difference from screen to print. Please reach out to us if you’d like to see additional photos of a work before making a purchase.
What does “gallery wrapped” mean?
Gallery wrapping is a method of stretching canvas so that it wraps around the sides of stretcher bars and is secured to the back of the wooden frame. Artwork that is gallery wrapped can hang without a frame.
Some artists choose to paint the sides of the canvas a specific color, some allow the paint to drip over the sides, and some have the painting continue over the sides. In most cases, the sides of gallery wrapped canvases are visible in our product images and description. However, if you have any questions about the sides of a specific piece, please email us at hello@olmgallery.com
What is a floater frame?
A floater frame is a style of frame where the art is mounted from behind making it appear as if it is not touching or “floating” within the frame. It’s only offered for works on gallery-wrapped canvas and is usually deeper than a traditional frame, as it has to cover the stretcher bars to which the artwork is mounted.
Is all of the artwork I see on Olm’s website available to view in person?
Because we are an online gallery with occasional pop-up locations we do not have an onsite location to see original works.
I am a designer/stylist. Can we work together?
Yes, send us an email at hello@olmgallery.com to learn more about how you can partner with Olm Gallery.
